What is Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty?
If you’re reading this post, you probably already know that Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty (RBUK for short) is a brand new show on Nickelodeon. It basically combines all the most popular girly things into one main character named Felicity. And of course she’s joined by none other than her dog friend Miguel.
The show follows Felicity and Miguel in their adventures and throughout the show Felicity has to call on one of her powers – unicorn, butterfly, kitty – you get it.
There haven’t been enough episodes in the series yet for me to give my honest opinion on the show but one thing I will say – coming up with Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty party ideas was a blast.

Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty Party Supplies
Since I’m not a huge fan of creating all of my own party supplies from scratch, I got some major help from Party City for the Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty party supplies used for the ideas below. Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty Party Ideas
My motto is model your party after your theme. In this case, Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty is a show that basically mixed and matched all things and turned them into one.
So do the same with your party. Forget picking one shape, one pattern, or one type of food. Come up with everything you love and mix it all together for one epic Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty party! If they can do it in a TV show, you can totally do it in a party!
Party City is the perfect place to pick up supplies to mix and match. I walked around the store with my husband and basically looked for anything that fit the rainbow theme and the colors of the show.

Start with the Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty collection then add in whatever you want that makes sense to your guest of honor.
Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty Party Food
Since the show itself pretty much centers around sweet treats, I went with just sweet treats for this RBUK party.
The star of the dessert table is a simple white cake that I decorated with rainbow Sixlets , rainbow sprinkles , and these Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty cake toppers . The pack comes with twelve – four cake size and eight cupcake size – so it’s perfect for topping all of your desserts!
I also made funfetti cupcakes and topped them with rainbow frosting and the smaller cake toppers. If you’ve never made rainbow frosting below, it’s super easy to make.
Pick your favorite buttercream recipe (I used this one) and make a batch. Split it into four or five bowls evenly and use food coloring to dye the frosting the colors you want. I used pink, purple, blue, green, and yellow to match Felicity.
Add the colors to a piping bag that’s been fitted with a 1M star decorating tip . I typically just use a spoon and try to keep the colors separated as much as possible on the edges of the piping bag. When you do the actual piping, it’ll mix well enough to look rainbow colored.
Then pipe your cupcakes and watch the magic rainbow appear! As a finishing touch, I added a second polka dotted cupcake wrapper around the cupcake to add more rainbow effect to the cake itself.
I also added a few other little treats like these twisty lollipops in various colors just to add a bit more sweetness to the table.
And to drink? I really wanted to make malts to go along with the malt shop in the show but decided malts would have to wait for another day since they melt so quickly and Texas is hot, even in the middle of winter!
Instead I made a rainbow sherbet sprinkle punch. Rainbow sherbet combined with lemon-lime soda and topped with rainbow sprinkles . It’s like a drink made just for Felicity and friends.
All of that rainbow food will look amazing on top of these colorful Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty plates ! And don’t forget the napkins – I like to provide more, smaller beverage napkins , but there are also larger ones available as well.

I didn’t do a whole lot in terms of Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty party decorations – just the cake toppers I mentioned before, rainbow confetti everywhere, these cute tabletop centerpieces (that also come with large confetti!), and rainbow candy to add color and pop throughout the party.

Last but not least, party favors! Party City has such a huge collection you could literally fill an entire bag full of RBUK Items from their collection. I went simple and chose just a few of my favorite items from the collection – light up rings , star wands , more of the twisty lollipops, plastic bracelets , and cute favor buckets to carry them all home in.
You could also just buy a smorgasbord of items and let guests choose the ones they want. This party is all about being able to choose what you want and not limiting our options right?

There are a couple of different things you could do for the party.
